DESCRIPTION:
EPW - Heuer, Semikrograph, artillery style split-seconds timer with 3-minute register, quick beat with dial having 1/50-second gradations, 58mm, gunmetal OF original case marked "M.P.W. 1744" to rear, crown at top position for winding as well as for stop, start, and reset function, crown at upper-left position for stop and reset of split-seconds hand, white enamel dial, SW, lever escapement, 7J, fausses-cĂ´tes pattern nickel damascene, s#7003 or s#7005 (last digit is partially covered by a chronograph spring). A scarce early Heuer product, by 1936 it appears that Heuer changed the name of this timer style to the "Semicrosplit" as is illustrated in the factory catalog of this date. CONDITION:
Mvt: NR, will tick if excess pressure is held to upper crown, when tested in this manner the timer exhibits good stop/start function as well as good split-seconds function but its minute register is not functioning, overhaul needed, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, few fine to micro-fine scratches, visible surfaces of mvt with some surface debris and dried oil in areas evidencing it has likely not seen a cleaning in many years; virtually flawless dial with few infinitesimal pinpoint edge nicks under bezel; nearly mint hand; case shows light wear, some fine scratches, no dents or dings, gunmetal with scattered areas of finish loss and oxide; crowns show little wear; glass crystal with some small fine scratches.
